How to resolve AdBlock issue? 
The World Lifesaving Championships will be held in Riccione, Italy from September 27 – October 2, 2022 with Head Coach Kurt Wilson excited about the talent and opportunity ahead.
“It’s so good to finally have a Youth Team named for the first time since International Surf Rescue Challenge (ISRC) back in 2019 and the talent across the roster is super exciting for this campaign and our overall program,” said Wilson.
“It is a real credit to the hard work of all our youth athletes and their coaches over what has been a very challenging period.
“I can’t wait to see our Australian Youth Life Saving Team take on the rest of the World in Italy and wish the managers, coaches, club coaches and 12 athletes all the best in the lead up over the next 15 weeks,” added Wilson.
Youth Team Coach Craig Holden was equally as excited by the prospect of international competition for this talented group of youth athletes.
“The selection panel has chosen a very talented, strong and well-rounded team. I am really excited to have the opportunity to lead the Australian Youth Lifesaving Team to the World Lifesaving Championships,” said Holden.
“It is going to be a challenging World Championships’ campaign, with COVID-19 still a factor, and we also know that the European countries are going to be very strong and very well represented in the pool events, but I know that our team is up for the challenge.
“I am looking forward to working with the athletes, coaches and management to build and strengthen the bond, culture and ethos of the Australian Lifesaving Team,” added Holden.
